Real-life data of patients with hypoparathyroidism: a case-control study

Objective: This study aims to investigate real-life data of patients with hypoparathyroidism.
 Material and Method: retrospective case-control was carried out in a tertiary endocrine center between 1 January 2010 31 December 2019. Patients confirmed diagnosis persistent hypoparathyroidism healthy controls were included. Demographic characteristics the patients, laboratory findings, etiologies hypoparathyroidism, treatments they received, reasons for hospitalization, complications investigated. 
 Results: Sixty-five (mean age 42.80±13.4 years, 91% female) 54 33.58±11.9 65% Mean calcium level 7.95±0.92 mg/dl, mean PTH 9.99±6.30 pg/ml hypoparathyroidism. Regarding etiology HypoPT, 51 (78%) had hypoPT due surgery; 14 (22%) developed HypoPT non-surgical causes. In who underwent surgery, value 8.03±0.93 mg/dl; 7.67±0.85 mg/dl. The levels group, other group 10.16±6.21 9.36±6.82 pg/ml, respectively. most common surgery multinodular goiter (72%). 46 percent, treatment calcitriol 0.5 mcg/day 2000 mg/day. Nearly half non-compliance (46%). Eighteen percent kidney stones. Forty-three been hospitalized last year. reason hospitalization hypocalcemia, this non-compliance.
 Conclusion: our study, cause is goiter. non-compliance. Up one-fifth
